It is with deep regret that we inform you of the passing of Dr. Dowan Kwon on Tuesday November 11, 2008 in Korea at age of 42. He is survived by his loving wife and son.

Dr. Kwon was an Associate Professor in the Department of Decision Sciences and MIS at the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University. A native of Korea, he received an MBA from George Washington University, Washington, DC., and a PhD in Information Systems from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. He joined Concordia’s faculty in 2002.

His research interests included business values and strategic consequences of information systems, detailed analyses of technological framing and evolution, and qualitative research methodologies.

Dr. Kwon’s research work has been published in Journal of Strategic Information Systems, Information Technology and People, Journal of Business Research, and Journal of Management Information Systems. During his too short career, he received paper awards and research grants. His work experience included consulting for telecommunication start-ups and designing information systems for a major South Korean financial firm.

He will be forever and truly missed by his family, friends, and colleagues and remembered for the kind and thoughtful person that he was.
